HOHOHO 40,024 word in the Robin Hood WIP! I WROTE 3,064 WORDS TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER.

Ahem. Now to actually work on my real story. Plan for the next two days:

Lunch with Neehar
Print out traveling tickets and homework in Hertford College
Write until 5pm tutorial
Drop off laptop back at home
Tutorial at Magdalen
Dinner
Pub Quiz viewing at the Turf? (Hopefully, people are going, slash will tell me. If not.....I'll just get food somewhere.)

Sometime Wed. night: Comedy show? I don't know where its location is, so I may message the one guy I know who's going, though I don't have his number. Perhaps a facebook message, even though he is most awful at facebook.

Various Notes

1. I hate laundry day. I'm wearing my tightest, most uncomfortable sports bra, and for the difficulty breathing, I might as well wear a corset - same amt of breathing, looks way better. However, this discomfort has not motivated me to do my laundry yet.

2. I may be sick? I'm feeling super-dehydrated, and mildly feverish, and my right lymph node WAS swollen but now isn't. The other culprit could be - dehydration from multiple days of excessive drinking. Seeing as I have no Tylenol or Advil, I'm banking on water and hoping for the best.

3. I went running today! I guess even I can have that kick in the ass eventually where I feel completely sloth-like and need to move. The ultimate football game yesterday did not go quite as planned, so I did a 3-4 mile run today. I'm not quite sure exactly how far, but that's the estimate; I am, however, leaning more towards four.

4. I have had these urges to make pudding - namely, rice pudding. I have also been falling in love slowly with British food, weird as that may sound. Venison sausages, peas, and mashed potatoes? Divine. Dark chocolate coated digestives? To die for. Pudding? In love. Pub grub? Spare me an extra plate.

5. I am starting to cook properly. Gone are the days of hardish pasta that was one minute short of al dente and sauce. I am grilling salmon fillets and making colorful food dishes. I am proud of myself. I actually like cooking. Now if someone could do my laundry for me.

Courtesy of yesterday and today, I am currently 3000 words behind on my Robin Hood draft. Woe. And I have a story to finish by Wednesday.

In other news, I politely handed it to an asshole on the Critique Circle forums who makes sure that all his stories follow "logical" progression, and thinks it imperative that any story that mentions eating must, at some later point, mention that character needing to use the loo. Kissing in the morning after sex is, in his opinion, unreal(istic, I think he meant), because of morning bad breath.

He also used bad grammar.

Shudder.

Life Is Good

Claire McCaskill, the Democratic Missouri Senator, went on the Colbert Report (YAY), supported Barack Obama (YAY), and made me feel good for voting for her (YAY).

I am able to watch The Colbert Report and Daily Show once again (YAY).

I have passed the 20,000 mark on my Robin Hood story (YAY).

And I was able to sleep at a decent hour last night (YAY)!

Life is good. Back to writing, outlining, and critiquing. Hopefully, I'll be going to the Eagle and Child tonight for drinks.

AND, JKR IS WRITING AN 800 WORD PRELUDE BIT TAKING PLACE THREE YEARS BEFORE HARRY'S BIRTH (That'd be 1977 blokes, around the time most people think that the Marauders are in their 7th year) INVOLVING JAMES POTTER AND SIRIUS BLACK.

Outline / To-Do List

June - mid-July: Finish 80,000 ~ first draft of Robin Hood story.
mid-July - August: Edit The Barren Land, my Nano '07 novella.
August - November: School. Potentially, a break. Researching the culture/history of the Robin Hood setting - England during the late 1100s, during the Crusades.
November: Nanowrimo again?
Winter Break: Editing Robin Hood, and running through The Barren Land again.
Spring Semester: Getting The Barren Land critiqued.
Summer: Running through Robin Hood again and getting it critiqued. Potentially editing Nanowrimo 08. Potentially writing another manuscript.

Rinse and repeat.

Self-Note - To Do For Tomorrow:

Noon: Lunch at Hertford with some OPUS crew.
Visit the Castle and the Bod, perhaps?
Critique like mad, and grade critiques.
Write another 2,000 words.
Read more parts of The Book Thief.
Start outlining idea for assigned work.
Yeah.

I post a lot lately.

So I need something to get me to sleep. This whole, 5am - 1pm nonsense is kind of ridiculous. Who ever heard of someone who could not physically sleep until the sun was coming up?

Rubbish.

That said, happy dream! And, also joined Litopia.com, and started reading The Book Thief, which is quite good, from where I've started.

Yays and Nays of 5/25-26

YAY: I got MacSpeech Dictate, the leading voice recognition software for Macs!

NAY: My Macbook microphone is apparently not sensitive enough for it (or I'm self-conscious about having 5 other people in the house, and am not speaking loud enough.)

YAY: I have a good, Logitech microphone back home, I believe. So no money-spending.

NAY: It's back home, and I'm in the UK where everything is arsedly-expensive.

??: Should I buy a Logitech headset here?

YAY: I has chocolates.

NAY: My story for my class sort of flatlined. Obviously, going contrary to my muse always leads to disaster.

??: Should I bull through the disaster and then discuss my other, more out-there idea with my tutor or just go for it?

M_E Gifts

So, une probleme.

I meant to send them out in the UK with different ideas, seeing as I am....in the UK, birthplace of all things lovely and HP. But I have come to realize that sending shit out alone could be like, obscene amts of pounds. (which equals 2 x obscene amt in dollars). Woe.

So that idea may have to be scrapped. I will have to think of something better!
